My Predictions: Grand National 2013

Racing Post

A bit of a bloke-ish post, but I love betting on the Horses. So I get really excited by the annual Grand National, which takes place tomorrow. I think it’s the racing part I love the most, and not knowing whether an ‘underdog’ will pull through, or if the front runners really are the winners.

Anyways, why listen to me on betting? Well, I have absolutely no idea with horse forms, but what I do know is the amount of money I’ve happily won from it. Two years ago I went to Newmarket Nights and won £280, which was bloody good from a couple of ten pound bets. I also predicted and placed a bet on last years Grand National winner Neptune Collognes, who wasn’t even a favourite. I must admit that one was a fluke.

So my loose prediction for the Grand National is any horse aged 9!! The previous four winners have been 9 years of age, so I think that may be when a horse is at its peak.

If I was to place one bet on The Grand National, my pick is Colbert Station at 11/1 (William Hill Odds as of 9.00 am). Not fantastic returns, but the Jockey confirmed to ride Colbert Station is AP McCoy. A horse riding guru. He chose this horse over riding last years runner up Sunnyhillboy. Does AP McCoy know something we don’t know about this horse. Colbert Station is 9 years old coincidently, and the odds are quickly falling at the bookies – bet now!

If you create an account with William Hill and deposit £25 they will match that, and also give you a £25 free bet. Big stakes on the National it is. Who’s your money on?

*These predictions are entirely my own.

  1. Chicago Grey and Colbert Station for me Amsey. Although can’t resist a good 50/1 shot so also putting a few pennies on ‘What a Friend’ to place! Bout time for a man post!

Go on, make my day and leave me a comment. I read every single one. Thanks!! x
